Gening Liao graduated from the University of California at Davis in 2003 and the George Washington University Law School in 2006. Before joining the firm, she served as Assistant General Counsel of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union where she worked on issues at the intersection of labor and immigration law including immigration workplace raids, Social Security number no-match, and issues involving employment verification.
Ms. Liao also worked as the labor and employment attorney at the National Immigration Law Center. Prior to that, she served as Counselor to the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within the Department of Homeland Security, where as a political appointee, she worked on issues involving employment-based immigration and humanitarian relief. She is admitted to the California (2006) and District of Columbia (2008) bars, and is a labor and employment litigation associate.
