Michael D. Four   return to list

Mr. Four received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1978 and is a 1981 graduate of Loyola Law School. He has served as counsel in hundreds of arbitrations and numerous NLRB administrative hearings. He also litigates cases in federal and state court, including substantial bankruptcy claims on behalf of employees of bankrupt employers. In 2003, Mr. Four was the lead attorney for several United Food and Commercial Workers Local Unions in litigation relating to the 70,000 UFCW members who were on strike against retail food employers in Southern California. He has also counseled the Unions in their collective bargaining negotiations with the food employers.

Mr. Four is an expert on internal union affairs and elections. He also specializes in the law, regulations and procedures for handling agency fee/financial core members and internal audits. He has extensive experience conducting independent workplace investigations of alleged employee misconduct, including discrimination and sexual harassment, and negotiates initial employment contracts as well as severance packages for professional and executive employees. He frequently lectures unions and other organizations on union organizing, collective bargaining, and internal union affairs, and has written articles on these subjects.

Mr. Four is a member of the Labor and Employment Sections of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
