NICKELODEON PRODUCTION WORKERS SET TO AUTHORIZE THE ANIMATION GUILD AS BARGAINING REPRESENTATIVE

A super-majority of animation production workers at Nickelodeon Animation Studios submitted authorization cards in support of The Animation Guild, IATSE, Local 839 (TAG) representing them in collective bargaining. The Company has entered into a Card Check Recognition Agreement with TAG with a card check before an arbitrator forthcoming. The proposed unit includes about 190 production workers such as production managers, production coordinators, post-production assistants, art production coordinators, and asset coordinators. It is the largest group of production workers ever to organize with TAG, which represents more than 5,000 people employed in the animation industry. TAG already represents over 400 animation artists, writers, and technicians at Nickelodeon. In 2022, The Animation Guild was recognized or won elections to represent nearly 700 newly organized animation and production workers at more than sixteen production entities including Nickelodeon, Titmouse Animation (Robin Red Breast) in Los Angeles and New York, Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, ShadowMachine, Fox Television Animation, Bento Box Animation, and Late Night Cartoons. Michael Feinberg advises TAG on its union organizing and representation election campaigns, and with bargaining for these new collective bargaining agreements.
