UFCW 5, 7, 324, 367, 770, 3000 have openly opposed the proposed merger between Albertsons and Kroger, which would result in the divestiture and closing of an unknown number of Albertsons stores around the country, with a significant impact here in Southern California, after enriching private equity shareholders with a $4 billion dividend.
Attorney Generals from California, Illinois, Washington State and Washington D.C. have filed suits to stop the dividend.
